Probate Code
Probate
Code is the body of law within the New Mexico statutes that governs
the estates of deceased persons. The Probate Code also deals with
the administration of trusts and the protection of minors and persons
under disability, but probate courts do not have jurisdiction (authority)
to act in these matters. The New Mexico Probate Code is based upon
the Uniform Probate Code--a sort of model system that is used, at
least in part, in 18 states.
